Hamburg is crazy about music: creative video shows how Elbphilharmonie Hamburg looks forward to concert season starting this September

Hamburg, 26 May 2020 (HHT) – In joyful anticipation of a time when concert performances at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg can once again take place in front of an audience, Hamburg’s world-class concert hall has today released a video featuring this iconic building making music itself. According to current planning, concerts at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg will be held in front of a live audience from September, i.e. with the start of the new 2020/21 season. Tickets for the upcoming season’s high-calibre, varied programme are available as of today at www.elbphilharmonie.com.
Owing to the current situation, guests can reserve their concert tickets on a “BOOK NOW, PAY LATER” basis, so there are no risks involved.

Crazy about music: Elbphilharmonie Hamburg (VIDEO)Music starts filling the air, seats start bouncing to the beat, columns and walls are moving to the rhythm of the music of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice: even though the halls of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg have not witnessed any concert guests for weeks, music continues to thrive in the most magical way in this stunning venue on the River Elbe. The new video, which was released by the Elbphilharmonie today to mark the start of advance ticket sales for the new season, visualises how this concert hall is longing to once again welcome audiences to a joint concert experience.

2020/2021 season: the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg’s fifth season to feature more concerts than ever

Last weekend already saw the reopening of the Plaza, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg’s spectacular public viewing platform. From 2 September, and thus with the start of the new 2020/21 season, the concert hall will follow suit, inviting audiences to once again enjoy music performances on-site the premises. The programme for the 2020/21 season at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg is as classy and varied as always, with top orchestras from all over the world, several reunions with audience favourites, from Teodor Currentzis and Patricia Kopatchinskaja to Paavo Järvi, world-class composers as Artists in Residence, many works by Igor Stravinsky to mark the 50th anniversary of his death, a new festival featuring the latest music, plus a wide-ranging programme of the best music from every era and in every style, and lavish participation from local musicians.

All highlights as well as the complete concert programme of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg’s fifth season can be viewed online at www.elbphilharmonie.com.

“Book now, pay later” – bookings without risk

Individual tickets for the new season will be sold on a “Book now, pay later” basis, which means that, in the event that concerts are cancelled due to Corona-related reasons, customers do not bear any risk. While bookings can be made from today, tickets only need to be paid for once it has been confirmed that the relevant concert will actually take place – six weeks before the scheduled date at the latest.

In keeping with the tagline #ElphiAtHome, music lovers who don't want to wait until September can find a wide range of live streams, concert recordings, music videos, guided tours and even a special children's programme at www.elbphilharmonie.com.
