Topp 10 städerna 2018 – kärleksförklaring till Hamburg

Hamburg (HHT). Redan i januari utsåg New York Times Hamburg till en av "52 Places to Go". Elbemetropolen var som enda tyska stad med på rankingen och hamnade till och med på plats 10. Nu har en redaktör på den ansedda tidningen tillbringat en helg i Hamburg inom ramen av reseserien "36 Hours". Och han är lyrisk över hansestaden vid floden Elbe. Dessutom har den kända reseguiden Lonely Planet utsett Hamburg till ett av topp 10-stadsresmålen för 2018. Hansestaden ligger på plats fyra.

Top 10 byer 2018: Kærlighedserklæring til Hamborg

Hamborg (HHT). Allerede i januar udnævnte New York Times Hamborg til et af de 52 steder i verden, man skal have set ("52 Places to Go"). Som eneste tyske destination kom den nordtyske metropol ind på listen og landede på en tiendeplads. Nu har en redaktør fra selvsamme avis så tilbragt en weekend i Hamborg i forbindelse med rejseserien "36 Hours" – og han kan næsten ikke få armene ned igen. Herudover har den populære rejseguide Lonely Planet tildelt Hamborg en fjerdeplads på listen over byernes top 10 i 2018.

Lonely Planet and The New York Times declare love for Hamburg

The New York Times sounds like a “Hamburg fan” in a recent article of the “36 Hours in …” series, published on October 19, 2017. This comes just as the Lonely Planet travel guide put Hamburg fourth among the “Top 10” cities to visit in 2018. In January, The New York Times ranked Hamburg tenth among “52 Places to Go“ in 2017, and the only German destination on the list.

“Blue Port” Illumination starts spectacular Cruise Week in Hamburg: Seatrade Europe and Hamburg Cruise Days will transform the port of Hamburg into one big stage for the cruise industry

The Blue Port Hamburg installation designed by the light artist Michael Batz has been attracting international attention since 2008. Blue light once again transforms the Hanseatic city’s night-time port into a magically glowing stage. In 2017 the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and a number of the other buildings in the Northern European City are bathed in mystical blue light until 10 September.

Following a slightly rainy start to the event on Friday, the weather picked up on the second day of the Hamburg Cruise Days 2017 – attracting the usual number of visitors to the Port of Hamburg and making  the Cruise Days again to the cruise industry’s largest public event worldwide. Særudstillingen ”Melbye. Maler des Meeres“ på Altona Museum viser fra den 20.9.2017 til den 4.2.2018 et omfattende retrospektiv af en af guldalderens store malere. I anledning af 200 årsdagen for hans fødsel vises et stort antal malerier og tegninger af Anton Melbye for første gang offentligt.

European XFEL: world’s largest X-ray laser to launch in Hamburg

Hamburg, 1 September 2017 (HMG) – From 1 September 2017, the European XFEL – the world’s biggest X-ray laser – will be in regular operation. The €1.22 billion research facility in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region involves eleven European countries.

Miniatur Wonderland Hamburg once again ranked as Germany’s number one tourist attraction

Hamburg, 24 August 2017 (HHT) – A tremendous honour for both Miniatur Wonderland and Hamburg / Germany: for the second consecutive year, international guests to Germany have voted Miniatur Wonderland, the world’s biggest model railway, the number one tourist attraction in Germany. The survey was conducted by the German National Tourist Board (GNTB). Europapark Rust, an adventure park, was ranked second, and Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria came third. As a new entrant to the top 100, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, which opened its gates only recently, shot in at 51st place.
