Kellogg to relocate headquarters to Hamburg
The producer of cereals and snacks, Kellogg, will merge its division of the Nordics (Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark) and Germanics (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) markets and implements as new region “Northern Europe”. Headquarters of the new regional division will be in Hamburg. Wolfgang König has been appointed as as General Manager Northern Europe. The main objective of the new structure is to use the synergies from the seven countries and thus to consolidate Kellogg’s position as a major producer of cereals and snacks on the entire European market and its submarkets.
Ideal infrastructure in Hamburg
The company will relocate to the Elbe metropolis and close headquarters and related offices in Bremen by the end of the year. The decision was made after extensive testing of various locations in Europe. “Setting up headquarters for our new Northern Europe region in Hamburg will offer to us a better access and greater proximity to the Scandinavian markets. The relocation also underlines the importance of the German market for our business”, states König. In addition, Hamburg both offers an ideal infrastructure and excellent quality of life that will make the company more attractive to employees. Not affected by the relocation are the production in Bremen as well as other offices in the region Northern Europe.
