Kunstmeile Hamburg presents new 3-day pass at ITB Berlin

Hamburg, 7 March 2018 (HHT) – The Kunstmeile Hamburg, an association of five renowned art institutions in Hamburg’s city centre, presented a new ticket type at this year’s ITB Berlin: the 3-day pass provides visitors with unlimited access to all five museums on three consecutive days. At a price of 25 euro, the 3-day pass is ideal for a city break in Hamburg with a cultural twist. The pass is valid for the following institutions: Kunsthalle Hamburg, Museum for Arts and Crafts Hamburg (MKG), Bucerius Kunst Forum, Deichtorhallen Hamburg as well as Kunstverein Hamburg.

In the course of 2017, more than 1 million people visited the five museums and exhibition halls of the Kunstmeile Hamburg. Under the umbrella of Kunstmeile Hamburg, the Kunsthalle Hamburg, the Museum of Arts and Crafts Hamburg, the Bucerius Kunst Forum, the Deichtorhallen Hamburg and the Kunstverein Hamburg have joined forces to position themselves within the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and beyond. With the new pass, guests can visit all of the five venues as often as they wish on three consecutive days.

While renovation and modernisation measures at the Kunsthalle, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Deichtorhallen and the Kunstverein have been completed, the Bucerius Kunst Forum will be welcoming guests to its spacious new premises on Alter Wall in autumn 2018. The Kunstmeile's institutions present contemporary and historic art across all media types and are providing an exciting and varied exhibition programme also in 2018.

The Deichtorhallen, for instance, are currently presenting PROOF: Goya, Eisenstein & Longo, an exhibition dedicated to three congenial artists who translated the social, cultural and political complexities of their respective time into stunning works of visual art. The exhibition is on view until 27 May. And from 26 May to 22 July 2018, the Kunstverein will be presenting Jeremy Shaw, the first institutional solo presentation of this Canadian artist who lives in Berlin.

From 29 June, the Kunsthalle Hamburg will be showing Nature Unleashed – The Image of Catastrophe since 1600, a large-scale exhibition on the topic of natural catastrophes spanning several epochs and different media. With its The Polaroid Project exhibition, the Museum of Arts and Crafts provides insights into the aesthetics of instant photography and the innovative technology that has led to the visual revolution that went along with it (16 March to 17 June 2018). Meanwhile, the Bucerius Kunst Forum will explore the boundaries between artistic and commercial photography with its exhibition Anton Corbijn. The Living and the Dead (7 June to 16 September 2018). Further information on the Kunstmeile pass as well as upcoming exhibitions at the five Kunstmeile venues is available online at www.kunstmeile-hamburg.de.
