Photo Release: Hamburg Cruise Days 2019: Spectacular Parade of Cruise Ships in the Port of Hamburg
Hamburg, 16 September 2019 - More than 500.000 visitors partied this weekend in Hamburg / Germany during the 7th Hamburg Cruise Days. With a record number of twelve participating cruise liners, the event is the biggest public cruise festival in the world.
The spectacular Hamburg Cruise Days Parade was again the highlight on the night of Saturday: accompanied by 20 escort ships and a large fireworks display, five cruise ships made their way down the River Elbe. This year the AIDAperla (AIDA Cruises), MS EUROPA (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises), Mein Schiff 4 (TUI Cruises), MSC Preziosa (MSC Cruises) and the WORLD EXPLORER (nicko cruises) were the main actors using the port of Hamburg as their stage. During the event not only the cruise liners were celebrated, but also the topic of sustainability in the cruise industry was discussed (www.hamburgcruisedays.de).
Immediately prior to the public event, Hamburg hosted the Seatrade Europe, the leading cruise industry fair in Europe. With this cruise-themed week in September - as well as numerous other maritime events - the Port of Hamburg is arguably one of the most exciting urban ports worldwide (www.hamburg-travel.com/cruise).
