The gates of the wholesale market will open at 10:00 on 1 September 2024. The first ‘Back to Hogwarts’ fan event will officially open at 11.00 am. The time is a reference to the moment when the Hogwarts Express departs from Platform 9 ¾ for a new school year in the Harry Potter story. There will be a magical programme on two stages and a spacious event area until 17:00. Visitors can look forward to surprise guests, prominent Harry Potter fans, samples from the show Harry Potter and the Enchanted Child and stands from partners such as CARLSEN Verlag, Elbenwald and the LEGO® brand. What exactly is ‘Back to Hogwarts’?

‘Back to Hogwarts’ is the day (1 September) when, in the books by J.K. Rowling, the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry board the Hogwarts Express and embark on a journey full of adventure, friendship and magic. Over the years, this story has gone beyond the pages of books and popular films to become a real event. What began as a small gathering of die-hard fans in London has become a worldwide phenomenon over the years.

The adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione continue and magic becomes reality on stage. Nineteen years have passed since the friends saved the wizarding world. But the battle is not yet won: Because the dark often comes from where you least expect it... Harry Potter and the Cursed Child celebrated its German-language premiere in Hamburg in December 2021. Since then, the spectacular theatre adventure has brought the magic live to the stage of the elaborately converted theatre at the Grossmarkt. J.K. Rowling wrote seven world-famous novels about the life of Harry Potter from the age of eleven to eighteen. The eighth story in Rowling's wizarding saga is the first and only one that can be experienced live as a show and continues the success of the books and films on stage: In London, the play has been playing to sell-out audiences since 2016 and has become the most awarded production of all time with nine Olivier Awards. On Broadway in New York, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was also successful in six categories at the equally prestigious Tony Awards, becoming the most awarded production of the theatre season with a total of 25 prizes.
