"Mischen is possible" - A campaign for Hamburg as a city of culture

The "Mischen is possible" campaign presents Hamburg as a city of culture rich in contrasts and invites you to combine cultural offerings in new ways and experience them live. Whether theatre, museums, concerts or clubs - the campaign inspires people to combine the tried and tested with the new and to discover culture in all its facets.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media, Hamburg Marketing GmbH is focussing on digital channels in order to appeal to young target groups in particular and make the diversity of Hamburg's cultural landscape more visible to them.

Colourful visuals, creative formats and informative content ensure a high reach and attention with a strong recognition value.

  • About the Instagram channel @kulturstadthamburg is used to publish inspiring content that visualises Hamburg's cultural diversity and connects cultural institutions.

  • The Spotify playlist of the City of Culture Hamburg provides the right sound for the way to the club, theatre, museum or an exhibition.

Expertise for campaigns

The Comprehensive Hamburg Marketing department has many years of experience in the planning and implementation of communication campaigns. This includes the multi-award-winning international campaign for the opening of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in 2017 and the collaboration with Hamburg's cultural partners.

The "Mischen is possible" campaign builds on a series of successful cultural campaigns and has been continuously developed since 2023. Hamburg's cultural diversity has been successfully emphasised through changing focal points and new impetus has been given to the perception of the city as a cultural metropolis.

  • International 360-degree campaign for the opening of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg (2017)
  • Kultursommer Hamburg (2021) under the motto "Play out loud"
  • 5 years of the Elbphilharmonie (January 2022)
  • "Treat yourself to culture" (2022) with a focus on live culture and new event formats
  • Christmas campaign "Give the gift of culture" (2022/23) to promote cultural vouchers
  • Launch of the "Mischen is possible" campaign (winter 2023)
