Hamburg, 24 August 2017 (HHT) – A tremendous honour for both Miniatur Wonderland and Hamburg / Germany: for the second consecutive year, international guests to Germany have voted Miniatur Wonderland, the world’s biggest model railway, the number one tourist attraction in Germany. The survey was conducted by the German National Tourist Board (GNTB). Europapark Rust, an adventure park, was ranked second, and Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria came third. As a new entrant to the top 100, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, which opened its gates only recently, shot in at 51st place.

MS Dockville Festival: 18 – 20 August

Now in its 11th year, music and visual arts festival MS Dockville is a go-to for the alternative music scene. Revellers can look forward to a diverse line-up of headline names supported by an array of emerging musicians, set against the backdrop of Hamburg’s industrial docklands.

For the very first time in its corporate history, Norwegian Cruise Line is positioning a cruise ship in Hamburg scheduled for multiple voyages: the Norwegian Jade. Freshly spruced up and completely modernised, the ocean liner presented itself yesterday during its first-time arrival in Hamburg  with a lap of honour in front of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

During the ELBJAZZ Festival (2 to 3 June), the port will once again provide the backdrop for a one-of-a-kind music event that allows visitors to enjoy two full days of live performances in maritime locations – with renowned artists such as Gregory Porter and the Joshua Redman Trio. Around the same time and starting on 25 May, the international theatre festival “Theater der Welt” will be presenting a broad range of productions from around the world.
