32.000 visitors from 40 nations, 400 concerts, 200 events and 220 conference items transformed the district of St. Pauli / Hamburg during the last days into Europe´s most creative neighborhood. The Reeperbahn Festival celebrated its tenth anniversary from September 23 to 26 and confirmed its status as Europe´s largest club music festival and hotspot for the international music- and digital industry.  

Since 2008, the installation “Blue Port Hamburg” by Artist Michael Batz evokes international awareness. For the Hamburg Cruise Days, the installation puts the Port and the City`s main sights like the new Elbphilharmonic Concert Hall, the St. Michaelis church and the museum ship Cap San Diego in scene and shines a bright blue light on those points of interest every night until September 13th.

The UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee has approved Hamburg’s application for the “Speicherstadt and Chilehaus with Kontorhaus District” to be included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. The decision was made at today’s Committee meeting in Bonn, Germany.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has voted in March in favour of Hamburg as the official German nominee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With the launch of the new website www.healthcare-hamburg.com, the north German city of Hamburg is presenting a comprehensive information and service portal directed at health tourists from the Arab countries. The “Hamburg Healthcare” campaign is being launched during the “Arab Health” in Dubai, the world’s largest healthcare exhibition.

Construction works on the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg’s spectacular new concert hall, are proceeding swiftly. The public Plaza will be opened in November 2016, and the remaining cranes are in the process of being dismantled. The amazing architecture of this new concert hall is now fully visible for the first time.
