Construction works on the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg’s spectacular new concert hall, are proceeding swiftly. The public Plaza will be opened in November 2016, and the remaining cranes are in the process of being dismantled. The amazing architecture of this new concert hall is now fully visible for the first time.

CHINA TIME 2014: Germany’s major China-related series of events kicks off in Hamburg

Today the German port city of Hamburg launched its 2014 CHINA TIME programme. The opening ceremony was attended by Hamburg's First Mayor, Olaf Scholz, and Chinese Consul General, Yang Huiqun. Up until 23 November, the city is showcasing its strong ties with China. More than 200 events will convey a diverse picture of traditional and contemporary China, highlighting the close relationship between Hamburg and China.

Photoville, the annual photography festival in Brooklyn, New York, will take place from September 18 to September 28, 2014. The producer of cereals and snacks, Kellogg, will merge its division of the Nordics (Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark) and Germanics (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) markets and implements as new region “Northern Europe”. Headquarters of the new regional division will be in Hamburg. Wolfgang König has been appointed as as General Manager Northern Europe.
